Career and technical education classes are hands-on, which makes them difficult to cover with a substitute when the shop, kitchen or lab is not available or not safe to supervise. The lessons below are printed worksheets and readings, so check each plan’s materials line to confirm what it needs before you choose.
What is in the CTE library
There are 44 free lessons: 10 for agriculture and FFA, 8 for career readiness and exploration, 12 for engineering, robotics and industrial technology, 12 for family and consumer sciences and culinary, and 2 for driver’s education.
How to use these as CTE sub plans
- Follow your school’s safety rules. Do not have students use tools or equipment unless your plan and school policy allow it.
- Look for math and reading lessons. Some use formulas or problems drawn from the trade, such as field area and crop yield.
- Print student pages only. Answer keys and sub directions are on separate pages.
