Spanish, French and German Sub Plans

World language classes are hard to cover with a substitute who does not speak the language. Many of the lessons below give students a reference table, a short dialogue or worked examples on the page, so a sub does not need to speak Spanish, French or German. The teacher PDF includes the answer key.

What is in the world language library

There are 32 free lessons: 10 for Spanish 1, 10 for Spanish 2-3, 8 for French 1-2, and 4 for German 1-2.

How to use these as Spanish and world language sub plans

  • Choose a reference-based lesson. Look for one that gives students the vocabulary or conjugation table they need.
  • Match the level. Spanish 1 and Spanish 2-3 have separate sets, so pick the one that matches your class.
  • Keep the sub’s role simple. The sub hands out the work, keeps time and collects it.
  • Print student pages only. Answer keys are on separate teacher pages.
